Everybody knows what a smoothie is; something yummy. Almost all smoothies are delicious but also healthy. Choosing the ingredients for your own special smoothie can be fun and exciting.

There’s no such thing as right or wrong in making your very own smoothie! It can either be a fruit smoothie with milk or a vegetable smoothie. Your choice! They’re very easy to prepare and offers tons of health benefits!

It’s a fact that consuming fresh fruits and vegetables helps in building our immune system to fight off illnesses; it also helps in weight loss and improves brain functioning.

1. Smoothies can be a meal replacement by adding protein and fat. No need to worry that you won’t get enough nutrition, as fruit or vegetable smoothies come with plenty of essential nutrients that your body needs.

3. Smoothies can reduce cravings. This is an advantage especially to those wanting to lose weight.

Delicious Smoothie Recipes Even Kids Will Love


PB&J Smoothie

Ingredients

1 c. frozen strawberries (apples can be substituted)

1 banana

1/4 c. peanut butter, plus more for garnish

1 c. skim milk

2 tbsp. fresh strawberries, chopped (apples can be substituted)

Directions

Combine frozen strawberries, banana, peanut butter and milk in a blender and blend on high until smooth.

Pour into 2 glasses and garnish with peanut butter and fresh strawberries.


Breakfast smoothie with oats

Ingredients

cup milk

1 cup mixed berries

mango

1 tbs honey

1/2 cup rolled oats

2 tbs Greek yoghurt

Protein powder supplement (optional)

1 tbs golden flax meal (optional)

1 handful mixed nuts and seeds (small)

1 tbs raw cacao powder


Method

Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.

Ingredients

1 container (4 oz) – Greek Yogurt

1/4 cup (not packed) – cottage cheese, lowfat

1 cup – strawberries, frozen, unsweetened

1/3 cup – almond milk, unsweetened

1 tablespoon – honey

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a blender. If it's too thick, add more milk to reach desired consistency. Top with fresh berries and graham crackers for extra pizazz!
